SITA GUFA-PATIHANI

17 kilometers south of Bharatpur lies the Patihani VDC which captivates big social, cultural, religious and natural importance. This tourist spot is mainly famous for seasonally observable birds and other several rare animals. In this home of indigenous people there are several temples, stupas, hermitages, like: Sita Mai Devalaya (temple), Bikram Baba, Kamal Pokhari (pond), Sivalaya, etc. Rapti River flows along this place which is a gateway to Barandavar Area. Likewise Sita Gufa (cave) located in Ayodhyapuri VDC ward no-7 holds a very huge religious value for Hindus. It is believed that Sita after being pregnant was accused by a washer man of Lord Ramas Kingdom and exiled. She lived in a cave 4 kilometer east of Baikuntheswor Dham where she was left earlier. Hence her name was given to the cave itself.

-Sita Gufa can accommodate about 100 persons.

-Idols of gods and goddesses like Brahma, Vishnu, Shavitri, Parvati, Laxmi, Bhagawati and Ganesh are inside this cave.

-It is bigger than Mahendra cave and Siddha cave.
